Technology Showcase
Herein is a broad sampling of artifacts I have created using a range of technologies. Here is a link to my education and technology blog.
An introduction to using Voicethread (which since has added functionality), a flexible and sophisticated tool for education, in the foreign language classroom. See it below or here.
A Powerpoint slideshow reviewing Chinese tones. Powerpoint stand-alone slideshows allow for embedding audio and video files, linking to files online (in my case Youtube videos), This is a large file which you must download to view here. Below please find some images.
For a group project teaching some functionality, we decided to use Slideshare to introduce Google Docs. Slideshare is a fairly straightforward website that allows for nice, simple navigation of slide shows using Powerpoint slides and recorded audio. It is also easily accessible, requiring neither login nor special knowledge of how to use it. View it onthe right or here.

A podcast. I used Reaper software to put together this interview about assessment. I created a name for a series of podcasts and included music to make it as professional as possible.

Below, or here in fullscreen, is a lesson using Voicethread. I used this tool because it allows me to post images, text, and video, and then make comments, and it further allows the students to record as well, so that they can practice and I can hear what they have done.

To the right is my Prezi on managing complex change, or view it here.

A presentation on integrating technology in school, or view it here.

A look at how I teach Chinese, or view it here.

In the two videos below, in each case I first used one tool, and then put it on Youtube for convenience.

Animoto is a fun tool that allows you to put still images and music, and then creates a fast paced video. The one below on the left is a student art show; the one on the riight a trip I led to China.
