I spent five months working with a small international school in China, helping them to get the technology part of the school up to date. I served as technology integrator, technology teacher, and IT director simultaneously. Below is what I accomplished:

A Typical Day
While no day was truly typical, nonetheless following is what a fairly typical day looked like: Set up the two computer labs – turn on machines and printers Check/restock shared printer and copier paper Check email Check tech support requests Prioritize tech support requests Lesson planning/Make sure I am ready for my own classes Support students and classes using computer labs Work with students and teachers on various technology issues, both problem solving and training Retrieve/reset forgotten passwords Write up technology use explanations Review edtech news Review course wikis Technology committee meeting Telephone call with Microsoft tech support to resolve Office365 admin issue Follow up with IT staff on outstanding tech issues Check technology setup for assembly Work on school technology plan Work on school website |
